Learn the essentials of assembling, adjusting and basic maintenance of today’s high quality bicycles. This course is designed to help prepare students to work as shop assemblers and fleet maintenance personnel. This course will start to prepare you for the BSE Level 1 Certification. Students are required to bring an essential tool kit to the first class (approximate value $50- list of required tools available upon request).

REI - Bike Wheel Truing
 
The wheel is a crucial part of the bike that requires specific care and maintenance. Over time, the rim, spokes, and nipples can become worn and/or damaged and the wheel can become fatigued; requiring repair or replacement to return it to optimal performance. Join our certified bike technicians to learn proper maintenance and adjustment you can make to keep your wheels and the component parts in good condition. BYOB - Bring Your Own Bike - Bikes must be clean and in good working order to be used during the class. If your bike does not meet standards you may still attend the clinic. Looking to get a GoPro, or you have one and would like some insight into best practices for the World's Most Versatile Camera? Join our GoPro experts for this class and Get to Know Your GoPro. We will focus on navigating the camera's user interface, understanding the video resolution options, additional video and image capture settings, accessories and mounts to help you use the camera to capture life's most exciting moments. This hands-on bike maintenance class focuses on what to do when you are on your ride and the unexpected happens. From flat tires to broken spokes and noisy chains to broken cables - our instructors will recommend tools for your trail/road tool kit and share tips and tricks to help you triage the situation in the field to keep you riding. AVL Bike & Pedestrian Task Force Meeting
 
Come make a difference for Asheville Cyclists and Pedestrians. This is the monthly meeting for the Asheville Bicycle & Pedestrian Task Force. Meetings are held at the City of Asheville Fire Dept training room on the 4th floor of the Municipal Building at 100 Court Plaza from 5:30pm - 7pm.
